Athens-Clarke County Library, 2025 Baxter Street, Athens, GA, 706-613-3650
- From Atlanta: Take I-85 N to GA 316. Follow 316 to the end. You will be at an intersection with a Kroger and Home Depot on your right. Continue on the same road which is now called Epps Bridge Parkway. It will eventually ramp you onto Atlanta Hwy (US 29). Follow Atlanta Hwy to Alps Rd. and turn right. Go to the next stoplight and turn left onto Baxter St. Go down the big hill and the large red brick building at the bottom is the library. Turn right at the light at Dudley Dr. and right again to enter the library's parking lot.
- From US 441 N or Ga 106: Come into Athens to North Ave and from there turn left onto Oconee Street. Follow Oconee St. to Broad Street and turn right to go west. Follow Broad to Alps Rd. and turn left. Go to the next stoplight and turn left onto Baxter St. Go down the big hill and the large red brick building at the bottom is the library. Turn right at the light at Dudley Dr. and right again to enter the library's parking lot.
- From Hwy 78 E: Come into Athens on Lextington Rd.(Hwy 78 E) to the intersection at Broad Street and turn left to go west. Follow Broad to Alps Rd. and turn left. Go to the next stoplight and turn left onto Baxter St. Go down the big hill and the large red brick building at the bottom is the library. Turn right at the light at Dudley Dr. and right again to enter the library's parking lot.
- From US 129/441/15: Come into Athens on the 4 lane section of Macon Hwy. Turn right at the light to continue following US 129/441. Turn left onto Lumpkin. Follow Lumpkin to the stop light at Westlake and turn left again. Follow Westlake the the stoplight at Baxter St. Turn right and go down the big hill. The large red brick building at the bottom is the library. Turn right at the light at Dudley Dr. and right again to enter the library's parking lot.

Take the Atlanta Hwy West. Go past Georgia Square Mall and Sam's Club. Continue straight to Bogart. Hwy 78 bears to the left but continue on the Atlanta Hwy all the way to downtown Bogart. At traffic light in Bogart, turn left. Turn left at S. Burson Street. There is a sign at Burson St. for the library and recreation fields. Library is the brick building on the right. (16 mi. Follow Baxter St. east until it ends at S. Lumpkin St. Turn left. Turn right on Broad St., following signs to Hwy 78 (also Oconee St.). Cross the Oconee River. Turn left on Peter St. (the next street after the traffic light at Poplar). Stay on Peter St. After the stop sign at Vine St., turn right on the 2nd street which is Moreland Ave. Go one block, turn left onto McKinley Dr. The East Athens Community Center and Park is on the right. - Follow North Ave. until it turns into Rt. 106 North toward Hull. When you get through Carnesville, turn right at yield sign. Straight through traffic light to Lavonia. Cross railroad tracks. When you get to V in the road, go right - toward Hartwell. Turn right at stop sign. Go passed the Post Office on left. Street curves to the left. Go straight. The library is on the left in front of the Lavonia Elementary School. (93 mi. RT from HQ)
- Or, take 441 North to Commerce. Get on I-85 North and go to Lavonia Exit. Turn right off exit ramp. At first light turn left. Cross railroad tracks. When you get to the V in the road, go right - toward Hartwell. Turn right at stop sign. Go passed the Post Office on left. Street curves to the left. Go straight. The library is on left.

Follow Baxter St. east until it ends at S. Lumpkin St. Turn left. Go straight on Lumpkin St. (5 blocks) to Dougherty St. Turn right. - Take Rt. 29 North out of Athens. Follow 29 all the way to Danielsville. Stay on 29 when you go around the Courthouse. Go halfway around the Courthouse. Continue north a short distance until you come to a traffic light at Highway 98. Turn left onto 98. The Madison County Library is about two miles down the road on your left next to the Madison County Recreation Department. (44 mi. RT from HQ)
- Or, take Highway 106 North. At 4-way stop in Ila, turn right onto Highway 98 and proceed to library.

Take Baxter St. to Alps Rd. Turn left (Alps becomes Westlake) and follow to stop light. Turn right onto Lumpkin. Turn right onto the Macon Hwy. Continue going south on the Macon Hwy at the Timothy Rd. traffic light. Turn left once you reach the 4 lane section of the Macon Hwy. Take the exit for State Route 53 (Experiment Station Rd.). At the base of the ramp turn right onto Highway 53 and continue for .5 miles. The Oconee County Library is on the left just past the U.S. Post Office. (16 mi. Take Route 78 East out of Athens. The library is midway between Crawford and Lexington on Route 78. The library is on the left on a hill about 1.5 miles past the center of Crawford. It is just past the Farm Bureau. If you pass the Oglethorpe County High School on the right, you've gone too far! There is a sign. (36 mi. Take US Hwy 29 North out of Athens. Turn left on Trail Creek Dr. which is directly across from Athens Christian School and before the Georgia State Patrol. Follow Trail Creek Dr. into the Pinewood Estates North Mobile Home Park. Bear right when the road forks and follow signs to Row F-G. Turn left on Row F-G and drive approximately 100yds.
