Practice reading with a furry friend! Please sign up at front desk in advance.This program allows beginner and/or struggling readers to read to a certified, insured therapy dog. For some children, reading in front of peers or adults can be a daunting experience. Dogs have a calming effect and reduce the hesitation children can experience when they read. Children aren't the only ones who benefit from the program. The young readers are actually helping to further train this extraordinary dog for her work with children and adults with physical disabilities. 15-minute session per child.
