![]() | ParkPass Library Loan Program Get out. Get dirty. Get fit. With a valid library card you can borrow a Georgia State Parks Annual ParkPass and an individual Historic Sites Visitors Pass for up to 7 days. The ParkPass exempts you from paying the daily parking fee at state parks and the Historic Sites Visitors Pass exempts one visitor from admission fees to any state historic site in the state. | |||
Downloadable Audiobooks Now Available Downloadable audiobooks are now available for library patrons to download for free. A consortium of Georgia libraries has selected a custom collection of audiobooks for our patrons. This service, "Georgia Download Destination," is hosted by OverDrive. OverDrive Audiobooks can be downloaded to your PC or Mac, burned to a CD (when allowed by the publisher), or transferred to a supported portable device. | ||||

Preschool & Toddler Story Time Fridays, 10:30 a.m., General Purpose Room Story time is every Friday at 10:30 AM. Story time includes stories, finger-plays, songs and crafts for literacy-based fun. It is open to children ages 2 to 5. This month's themes are: the letter I, author Bernard Waber, and the season of Fall. There will be no story time on Friday, September 17th. | |||
Homeschoolers Chapter Book Revue Wednesdays, 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Every Wednesday afternoon beginning at 2:00 Miss Jennifer will be in the lobby reading. Past selections have included mysteries and comedies for juveniles. Try to drop in one or all of these afternoons of fun reading and sharing. | ||||

Computer Classes
Alisa Claytor, the library's computer specialist, offers free computer classes for everyone. 4 programs, offered at 3 different sessions, will provide you with the skills you need to get comfortable with the internet. This month's series includes, in chronological order, Introduction to the Internet, Introduction to Email, Sending and Receiving Attachments and Basic Internet Searching. This series will get you motoring on the Information Highway. Please call to pre-register - each session can only hold 6 attendees so space is limited! Sessions are Tuesdays from 2 to 3 PM and 7 to 8 PM, and Wednesdays from 11AM to 12 PM. Introduction to the Internet: | |||

Books & Bites Friday, September 24, 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. After Hours for Teens Only!!! BYOB (Bring your own book). Your monthly opportunity for reading in peace or hanging out and drawing: and you don't have to use your library voice! The library closes at 6 but will re-open at 8 PM for adult-supervised fun. The Fall Book Sale is finally here! Friends members get a special sneak preview on Thursday, September 16 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The sale will be open to the public during library hours from Friday the 17th to Saturday the 25th. Donate your gently used hardbacks, paperbacks and audio-visual materials to help make this sale a quality event for all. The book sale organizers can always use volunteers to unload, set up and man the sale - please call the library for more information at 706-795-5597. The Friends Yard Sale to be held on Saturday, October 9 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Collect and clean your items, and pre-price them for quick sales! | ||||
