Magazine & Newspaper Articles
MasterFILE Premier provides full text for over 1,800 journals and general magazines Proquest Research Library provides a full text for over 1,700 scholarly journals and general magazines. Academic Search Complete is a comprehensive scholarly, multi-disciplinary full-text database, with more than 5,300 full-text periodicals, including 4,400 peer-reviewed journals. Newspaper Source provides articles from more than 180 newspapers, including USA Today, The Macon Telegraph, and Savannah Morning News.
ProQuest Newspapers provides full-text access to five major national newspapers: Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and The Washington Post.
Encyclopedias
Britannica Elementary is designed especially for intermediate readers at the elementary and early middle school levels. Compton's by Britannica is designed especially for middle school students Encyclopædia Britannica Online School Edition is appropriate for high school students, teachers and general searching.High School/College Research
Annals of American History includes the full text of over 2,000 primary documents in American history, including historical accounts, speeches, memoirs, poems, editorials, landmark court decisions, and cultural criticism. Literary Reference Center includes plot summaries, synopses, and work overviews; articles of literary criticism; author biographies; full text of over 430 literary journals; and much more.
Literature Online Reference Edition is a collection of literary reference and criticism resources, including biographies, author bibliographies, Annual Bibliography of English Language and Literature (ABELL), essays from New Essays on the American Novel, and full-text articles from 103 literature journals.
Student Research Center is designed for students in grades 6 through 12. Users can limit results by source and/or format (e.g., Magazines, Newspapers, Biographies, Country Reports, Film & Video). Oxford Art Online provides online access to the entire text of the 34-volume Dictionary of Art plus newly-commissioned articles. The database includes over 45,000 articles on every aspect of the visual arts from prehistory through the present.

Health
The Merck Manuals provide detailed information on virtually all disorders, complete with discussion of symptoms and current therapy. The Home Edition provides medical information in everyday language.
Consumer Health Complete is a comprehensive resource for consumer-oriented health content, including full text from many health reference books and encyclopedias and thousands of health reports as well as physician-generated videos and hundreds of medical images and diagrams.
Careers & College
GAcollege411 is a free resource designed to help Georgia high school students and others who are interested in attending college explore careers, prepare for college and learn about financial aid opportunities. Resources include tools for matching students to careers; detailed information on specific careers; GHSGT, SAT, ACT, COMPASS/ESL & ASSET test preparation; tools for comparing Georgia colleges and universities; online forms for loan applications, FAFSA, and Hope Scholarship/Tuition Equalization Grant; and tools for financial planning.
Georgia Career Information System is an interactive product that offers job profiles, career exploration, and information on education and training programs with a particular focus on Georgia. Occupational content includes descriptions and outlook of occupations, hiring practices, required aptitudes, current employment in Georgia, and wage and salary data. (password required)

Genealogy & Georgia
Ancestry Library Edition collection has approximately 4,000 databases including key collections such as U.S. federal census images and indexes from 1790 to 1930. This database is not available outside of your library.
The Digital Library of Georgia is a gateway to Georgia's history and culture found in digitized books, manuscripts, photographs, government documents, newspapers, maps, audio, video, and other resources. The Digital Library of Georgia connects users to a million digital objects in 110 collections from 60 institutions and 100 government agencies. Though this represents only a fraction of Georgia's cultural treasures, the Digital Library of Georgia continues to grow through its partnerships with libraries, archives, museums, government agencies, and allied organizations across the state.

Sanborn® Fire Insurance Maps for Georgia Towns and Cities, 1884-1922 consists of fire insurance maps created by the Sanborn Map Company that depict the commercial, industrial, and residential areas of Georgia cities. The highly-detailed, color-coded maps document the changing face of Georgia cities by depicting not only the community but also each building, block, and neighborhood. The maps detail building construction, sizes, and usage as well as city services such as water and fire services.

Business Source Premier Enhanced provides full text for over 2,345 journals covering all aspect of business. In the advanced search interface, quick access is available to company profiles, country reports, industry profiles, market research reports, SWOT analyses, and articles.
ABI/INFORM Complete provides full text for over 1,461 U.S. and international journals covering all aspect of business and management. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for 759 journals.
Hoover's Company Capsules & Profiles includes brief information on 15,000 companies, including an overview of company operations, addresses, phone and fax numbers, names of key officers, a list of top competitors, sales and employment figures, and stock symbols.

Professional Development Collection is a specialized collection of journal articles and pamphlets especially for professional educators that includes abstract and index coverage for 800 professional development titles and searchable full text for over 500 journals covering the most current topics in the field of education.
Reading Suggestions, Reviews & eBooks
NoveList helps readers find new books based on books they've read or on topics in which they are interested.
NoveList K-8 is aimed at elementary and middle school students. A Teacher Resources page provides materials that will guide faculty to new titles and new ways for translating curriculum standards into classroom action.
NetLibrary provides access to electronic books (eBooks), including reference books, scholarly monographs, publications of many university presses, and consumer books that have been converted into digital format. A personal account is needed to access books from outside the library, and must be created in the library. Please contact your librarian for assistance.
