COLLECTION DEVELOPMENTSelects for purchase a variety of titles in a variety of formats that best serve the needs of the library community.View the Official Regional Collection Development Policy Our library patrons can also bring individual titles to the attention of our collection development staff by filling out and submitting a "Request for Consideration of Materials Not Owned by the Library" form. This form is available at all public service desks or online. ACQUISITIONSThe actual ordering and receiving of all purchased material.CATALOGINGDescribes the newly purchased material in the online catalog, "Evergreen," by recording the title and author as well as publication information, subjects and call number assignment. It is also the responsibility of the Cataloger to maintain and enhance the quality of the online catalog database. The catalog is the "finding" tool that enables a library to be a collection of a wide variety of items. How could you find exactly what you want and check it out without it?Learn more about the library's catalog and PINES PHYSICAL PROCESSINGPrepares material to go onto the shelves. This includes adding book jacket protectors, spine labels with the item's call number, property stamps, unique barcodes and theft detection devices. | ||||
