Special Displays and Programs for April 2011

Throughout the year

Artist Trading Cards - The Young Adult Department has an Artist Trading Card (otherwise known as ATC's) wall. Trading ATC's is fun! Here's what you do: Find a 3.5 by 2.5 inch card (ask for one at the YA desk if you stop by the library). Create a work of original art: drawing, painting, collage, or mixed media. Find a card that you like on the wall, and exchange your card for it. Artist Trading Cards are for ages 11 and up! Stop by the YA desk if you have questions, or call us at 706-613-3650 ext 329.

Wednesday, April 6, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Wildcard Wednesday: Book Ends - To celebrate Earth Day, we're making cool bookends from old magazine holders and abandoned VHS cases. Reduce, reuse, recycle! Free and open to the first 15 teens ages 11-18.

Wednesday, April 13, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Wildcard Wednesday: Friendship Bracelets - We have thread in every color! Make a bohemian bracelet or anklet for spring. Free and open to the first 15 teens ages 11-18.

Friday, April 15, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Afterhours@theLibrary - Teen coffee house and open mic! Come sing, dance, play an instrument, read some poetry, or juggle to an audience of your peers. Coffee and refreshments provided. Free and open to teens ages 11-18.

Wednesday, April 20, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Wildcard Wednesday: GAME DAY! - Game days rule! It's a free-for-all, but much less dangerous and much more fun. Come join us on game day and bring whatever it is you want to play! Open to teens 11-18.

Wednesday, April 27, 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Wildcard Wednesday: Steampunk Charm Bracelets - Queen Victoria was very fond of charm bracelets, which made them a very popular adornment in the Victorian Era. We're going to punk ours up with gears and cogs. Free and open to the first 15 teens ages 11-18.
