The Special Needs Library will be closed December 24, 25, 26 and January 1st.

Holiday Open House Friday, December 21, 2-5 pm

Come join library staff and patrons at our Holiday Open House! We will have light refreshments and lots of fun. We will also be showing a holiday-themed descriptive video at 2:30 in the Auditorium. Hope to see you there!

Family Afternoon at the Movies

There will not be a movie in December due to the holidays. Family Afternoon at the Movies will resume on Tuesday, January 24th at 4:00 pm in the Athens-Clarke County Library Auditorium. We will be showing the descriptive video "101 Dalmatians."

Cinema Classics

Our next movie will be Thursday, December 6th at 2:00 pm. We will be showing the descriptive video, "At War With the Army."

AT WAR WITH THE ARMY 1950 - Comedy, 91 min

Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis star in this song- and gag-filled farce. At the Stateside military base where Dean's a staff sergeant and Jerry's a mess cook, the two pals find themselves constantly in trouble with a loudmouth drill inspector, a conniving supply sergeant and a hen-pecked captain.

Two American vaudeville performers (Bing Crosby, Bob Hope) wind up on a South Sea island where they vie for the favor of gorgeous Princess Lala (Dorothy Lamour) while crooning and buffooning their way around headhunters, a giant squid, and a smitten gorilla.

Holiday Reading Program

The Special Needs Library is having a Holiday Reading Program that will take place from December 15th to January 15th. The top three readers during this time period will win a prize. Self Advocacy Network (SAN)

The purpose of the Self Advocacy Network (SAN), is to advocate for issues and/or concerns of individuals with disabilities. Multiple Choices is hosting the Self Advocacy Network on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:00 pm at Multiple Choices CIL located at 999 Gaines School Rd in Athens.
