If You Like That Author…

We are often asked for more books by a patron's favorite author when the patron has unfortunately already read everything that particular author wrote. We're also asked to recommend authors "similar to" or "who write the same kind of thing" as a favorite author. Here are a few samples from the Novelist database a very useful tool for readers. These "read alike" writers may not have exactly the same style or setting as the original authors listed, but contain similar elements and reader appeal.

Georgia Council of the Blind 50th Annual Convention

The 50th Annual Convention of the Georgia Council of the Blind will be held in Savannah at the Desoto Hilton on August 3-6, 2006. They have lots of fun things planned and they are expecting lots of special guests to celebrate this milestone. For more information visit their website at:

Low Vision Support Group

The Low Vision Support Group will not be meeting in July so their next meeting will be August 26, 2006.

Missing Tapes

We are still getting a lot of books returned with tapes missing. Please be very diligent in trying to get all the tapes back in their cases. If you have any extra tapes you can put them in with another book and we will try to find their proper home. Thanks.
